Referral Types

At Advantage Psychology, we aim to make accessing psychological care as straightforward as possible. We accept a wide range of referral pathways to ensure our services are accessible to everyone who needs support.

Our clinics welcome clients through Medicare, private health insurance, WorkCover, Compulsory Third Party (CTP), DVA, and BUPA referrals. Whether you’re seeking care through a GP Mental Health Plan, an insurance claim, or private sessions, our team can guide you through the process to ensure a smooth start to your care.

Our goal is to remove barriers to accessing evidence-based psychological support, so you can focus on your wellbeing. No matter your referral pathway, our experienced clinicians provide compassionate, professional care tailored to your needs.

  • Through Medicare, clients can access psychological services using a GP Mental Health Care Plan. This allows eligible individuals to receive subsidised sessions with a registered psychologist. Our clinicians work with clients to provide assessment, treatment, and progress reporting as part of this pathway. Medicare funding makes evidence-based therapy more accessible, supporting mental health care without financial strain.

  • WorkCover supports individuals who have experienced a work-related injury or psychological condition. Our clinicians are experienced in providing assessments, treatment, and reporting to meet WorkCover requirements. Therapy may include coping strategies, emotional regulation, and return-to-work planning to support recovery and workplace reintegration.

  • We accept clients accessing the NDIS through self-managed or plan-managed funding (agency-managed plans are not accepted). Our clinicians provide evidence-based psychological support tailored to each individual’s goals, needs, and NDIS plan. Sessions focus on building skills, managing mental health, and supporting functional outcomes in daily life.

  • CTP insurance provides coverage for psychological treatment following motor vehicle accidents. Our clinicians work with CTP providers to deliver evidence-based care for trauma, anxiety, or stress related to the accident. We guide clients through claims, documentation, and treatment planning to support recovery and wellbeing.

  • DVA covers psychological treatment for eligible current and former Defence personnel and their families. Our team is experienced in DVA processes and can provide support for trauma, adjustment, depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns. Treatment is tailored to each client’s needs and delivered with a focus on recovery, resilience, and quality of life.

  • Clients can access our services privately, paying for sessions directly without insurance or rebate involvement. Private sessions provide flexibility in scheduling, treatment focus, and ongoing support, allowing clients to engage in evidence-based therapy tailored to their needs. Our clinicians ensure care is professional, compassionate, and outcome-focused.

  • BUPA clients can access psychological care with potential rebates depending on their level of cover. Our clinicians provide evidence-based treatment for a broad range of mental health concerns and can guide clients through claims and paperwork to make the process simple and accessible. This pathway supports timely access to professional care.
