Rebates

MEDICARE
You may be eligible for ten counselling sessions with an instant rebate from Medicare. If you have a current GP Mental Health Care Plan (provided by your GP, a Psychiatrist or a Paediatrician) you may be eligible to to claim back up to 10 sessions in the calendar year. If you are seeing a Registered Psychologist you are able to claim back $93.35 per session. If you are seeing a Clinical Psychologist you are able to claim back $137.05 per session.

After six sessions, Medicare requires you to see your referring doctor for a review appointment. After the review, you are eligible for four further sessions with your psychologist. This would total 10 sessions in one calendar year.

We are able to process your Medicare rebate at the practice so that it is paid into your bank account, or you are able to lodge a Medicare claim online.

Speak to your doctor regarding your eligibility to receive a Mental Health Care Plan referral. Please mention Item 2710 for this specific rebate.

PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE
If you have private health insurance cover, you may be able to make a claim from your health fund. In many cases, this can significantly reduce the cost of sessions. We provide HICAPS services to help process your claim onsite.
