Advantage Psychology is a family-owned practice led by Directors Mitch and Ashleigh O’Brien.

They are proud to support a team of dedicated, compassionate psychologists, alongside an experienced support team who share a strong commitment to community wellbeing and the mental health sector. Together, the Advantage team works to create a warm, professional environment where both clients and clinicians feel supported every step of the way.


MITCH O’BRIEN
Clinical Director

Mitch O’Brien is the joint-owner and Clinical Director of Advantage Psychology Group. Alongside his leadership role, Mitch continues to work with clients as a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist.

He brings over 20 years of experience in business ownership and more than a decade of clinical practice in the mental health field.

Mitch is deeply committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychological care to clients, while also fostering a supportive environment for ongoing professional development among his clinical team. He values streamlined systems, practical business solutions, and lifelong learning.

Mitch holds a Master of Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Psychology, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Commerce. He is also an AHPRA Board-approved supervisor.

 

Jo NEAL
Practise MANAGER - ROUSE HILL

Jo Neal is the Practice Manager at our Rouse Hill clinic and brings a wealth of experience in healthcare administration, client services, and team coordination.

With a strong background in managing clinic operations, Jo is passionate about creating a smooth, welcoming, and efficient experience for both clients and clinicians. Her warm, friendly nature is paired with a sharp eye for detail and a proactive approach to keeping things running seamlessly behind the scenes.

Jo has held leadership and administrative roles across healthcare and corporate environments, including executive support, training coordination, and event planning. She is highly skilled in process optimisation, scheduling, billing, and stakeholder communication, and takes pride in building strong connections with the people she works with.

Currently completing further study in Nutrition, Jo brings both professionalism and care to her work — helping make our Rouse Hill clinic a calm and supportive space for everyone who walks through the door.

 

SELINA HITCHES
THERAPY ASSISTANT- ROUSE HILL

Client Focus: All Ages

Selina is a Therapy Assistant currently completing her Honours in Psychology at Western Sydney University. She brings a compassionate and person-centred approach to her work, grounded in lived experience, strong academic achievement, and years of hands-on support with vulnerable communities.

Selina has supported individuals fleeing conflict through her role at Western Sydney University, where she offers wrap-around care, including mental health, welfare, educational and settlement services. She is often the first point of contact for those navigating major life transitions and brings calm, clarity, and a deep respect for each individual’s journey.

As a volunteer facilitator with WayAhead’s Women’s Anxiety Support Group, Selina holds space for participants managing anxiety disorders including panic attacks, agoraphobia, OCD, social phobia and generalised anxiety. She is passionate about mental health advocacy, cross-cultural care, and supporting people to feel seen, heard and empowered in their therapeutic process.

Selina is based at our Rouse Hill Clinic and is available for counselling, client intake advice, GP support, and therapy assistance.

 

REBECCA GALEA
ADMINISTRATION MANAGER

Rebecca Galea is the Administration Manager at Advantage Psychology and has been a valued part of the team for over 10 years.

With a calm and experienced approach, Rebecca plays a key role in supporting both our clients and clinicians across both St Marys and Rouse Hill locations. She brings a wealth of knowledge about our systems, people, and values — and is known for her thoughtful communication, attention to detail, and steady presence behind the scenes.

Rebecca’s ability to balance efficiency with genuine care ensures that our administrative processes run smoothly and our clients feel supported every step of the way. Her dedication and long-standing commitment make her a cornerstone of the Advantage Psychology team.

 

ASHLEIGH OBRIEN
MANAGING DIRECTOR

Ashleigh O’Brien is the joint-owner and Managing Director of Advantage Psychology Group. With over 15 years of experience in general and executive management roles within ASX-listed organisations, Ashleigh leads the commercial strategy and business growth of the group.

Ashleigh is passionate about building a values-driven culture — one where clinicians can go deep in their areas of expertise and where continuous improvement is part of the everyday. She has a natural talent for connecting business with community, and for developing services that truly meet client needs.

In addition to her corporate experience, Ashleigh has served on not-for-profit boards, with three years in a non-executive role.

She holds a Bachelor of Communications and Media, a Master of Marketing, a Master of Business Administration, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

 

CHarlotte SMITH
Practise MANAGER - St MARYS

Charlotte Smith is the friendly and energetic face of our St Marys clinic, where she has been a valued member of the Advantage Psychology team for over three years.

Currently studying a Bachelor of Social Work at Western Sydney University, Charlotte brings genuine passion for helping people and a deep understanding of the importance of accessible, compassionate care.

Known for her bubbly personality and kind-hearted approach, Charlotte is dedicated to making clients feel comfortable and supported from the moment they walk through the door. She keeps our St Marys practice running smoothly while building strong connections with both clients and clinicians. Charlotte also provides training, systems and accounts support across both Rouse Hill and St Marys to support our commitment to excellence when it comes to our client experience.

Charlotte’s long-term commitment to the mental health field and her natural ability to put people at ease make her an essential part of our team and a trusted presence for our community.

 

DAWN SABLJAK
THERAPY ASSISTANT - ST MARYS

Client Focus: All ages

Dawn is a Therapy Assistant currently completing her Honours in Psychology at Western Sydney University. She brings a warm, empathetic, and person-focused approach to every interaction, grounded in her academic training and frontline experience supporting women through complex life circumstances.

Through her volunteer work, Dawn is experienced in supporting women who are navigating the child protection system and working toward reunification with their children. She offers practical assistance, emotional support, and a calm presence during complex life changes.

Dawn has a particular interest in trauma-informed care, child psychology, and the psychological wellbeing of women. She is passionate about helping individuals feel safe, valued, and understood as they work through life’s challenges. She walks alongside people with compassion, insight, and deep respect for their journey.

Dawn is based at our St Marys Clinic and is available for counselling, client intake advice, GP support, and therapy assistance.
